Inverness...
Less than an hour's drive north west of Craigellachie is Inverness and Loch Ness, home of the Loch Ness Monster.
As the capital of the Highlands, Inverness attracts thousands of visitors each year who come to experience its history, culture and tradition.
Loch Ness is one of the main attractions and widely known for the legendary tales of the Loch Ness Monster.Overlooking the river Ness and the Moray Firth is lnverness Castle, and close by, with its sombre atmosphere is Culloden Battlefield, where in 1746 Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites fought against his distant cousin, the Duke of Cumberland, who led the Government troops.

Today, the marshes of Culloden are calm and peaceful, belying their bloody history. Balnain House is the place to go if you want to get a taste of traditional Gaelic music. There is a permanent exhibition of Gaelic music as it has developed through the years, and Workshops are run to teach traditional instruments such as the fiddle, the harp and the whistle.
There is plenty of shopping in the town, with chain stores and antique shops on winding streets, or modern precincts and Victorian markets. Bars, cafes and restaurants serve every kind of cuisine imaginable, from traditional to the more exotic.
