April 2005 - Current Owners of Internationally Renowned Speyside Hotel Advance the Standard
The World-renowned four star Craigellachie Hotel in Scotland's Speyside is set to challenge the traditional standards of Scottish Hotels.

The current owners (who have owned the hotel for the last sixteen years) have decided to retain the hotel, thus ending speculation that has been widespread in recent months.

They will be investing substantially over the next two years to further enhance the quality of this 4 star, 2 AA rosette Hotel and Restaurant, and expand the whisky theme still further in it's world famous Quaich Bar. This will reinforce the hotel's intention of becoming Scotland's 14th 5 star hotel ~ and one of only seven outside Edinburgh and Glasgow ~ while still maintaining "a timeless presence in an ever-changing world".

Innovative ideas are being implemented to strengthen even more the hotel's reputation as having "the best whisky bar in the world".

The first of these is the introduction of a monthly "Exclusive Collectors Dram" in May ~ when a very special and limited bottling will be available for sale by the nip at cost price, or even less, to give whisky lovers a unique opportunity to enjoy a Single Malt that is normally unavailable and always extremely expensive. The first Exclusive Collectors Dram is The Macallan 1946, an exceptionally rare 52 year old Single Malt that will be available during May for only £39 per nip (25ml), against the correct bar price of £180 per nip! This bottle originally retailed at £1500, but is now almost unobtainable.

This weekend (29 April - 02 May) the hotel is a host for the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival with world renowned writer and 'whisky guru' Michael Jackson hosting a whisky themed dinner and conducting a book signing of his latest book, simply titled "Whisky" that has just been released.
